ENERGY - Task 3, calculation

Tap Water Caluclation:

Per Week I:

- drink 3L tap water per day = 21L per week

- i shower at least every second day (per minute showering we use 12-15L per minute, i shower 10-15minutes) = 3 times a week = 3x 225L = 675L per week

- i wash my face and hands everyday many times = per week ca. 20L

- i go to toilet ca. 5 times per day = 1 flush is 9-14L = 490L per week

That‘s a total of 1‘206L tap water per week for only one person. And that without even looking at all the products etc. that we use everyday that have water in them or were produced with water. For example only an avocado has 3‘000L in it.

C-Project - Task 18, Propogation

Tap water - the whole truth

Do you really know what you're drinking?

In many countries you can't drink the tap water, while in switzerland this is everyday life for us. But why can't you drink tap water everywhere, and is it really as healthy in Switzerland as we think? Because of these questions and because we want to sensitize people to such an important topic, we chose tap water as our project.

C-Project - Update Laboratory

Finally we've found some laboratory analyze the water for us. The “WASSERKLAR einfach vital” in Bäretswil has agreed to examine the water with us. We will be able to examine the water for pollutants such as bacteria and germs, heavy metals, light metals, pesticides, drug residues, hormones, microplastics, legionella, multi-resistant germs.

We are so excited about it. Even though it won't be early enough (so that we can post it directly in our article) we will update it later and it's still going to be super interesting for us to analyze the water.

C-Project - Problems/Setbacks

Unfortunately there were also problems with our project. But since this is not uncommon, we don't allow ourselves to be unsettled and continue with the same enthusiasm. Our struggles:

April 22, 2022: Emina's parents brought tap water from Bosnia, which we want to test in a laboratory so that we can see the difference to Swiss tap water. We are particularly interested in cleanliness. If there is time, we would like to look at the result with the responsible laboratory technician.

April 29, 2022: We sent an email to LaBeCo, the water analysis department in Alberswil, because we couldn't reach them by phone.

May 6, 2022: We have not yet received a response.

May 10, 2022: We are now trying our luck at Eawag (water research institute of the EHT's area) in Dübendorf. We have also sent them an email.

C-Project - Task 15, Reflection and comparison

hello We definitely learned a lot about our topic. We imagined the teamwork to be easier. Since this project is very important to us, we wanted to invest a lot of time and make progress quickly. Bur the project isn't that important for our team memebers, which is why they sometimes needed very lon for answers or pictures etc. Nevertheless, the cooperation was great. We learned a lot of new things about the languages, origins and countries and had good conversations.

We underestimated the situation in other countries. here it is so easy and cheap to get water, in bosnia and turkey it is much more difficult and also more expensive. as you will then read in our finished article, water in these countries is sometimes even dangerous.

But on the whole we assessed the vision & imagination well.

C-Project - Task 14, web contribution review

In the lesson of april 1st, 2022 we will ask two people from the class to look at it.

Update:

Vanessa Nauer (Sandrina's sister) and Murisa Murtic (Emina's sister) have rated our text on basis of checklist for dontwastemy.energy. it showed us that we could still name our collabration partners , make a glossary and specify our laboratory request in process. the title should be looked at again.
